3 Tips for Simplifying your Social Media Strategy

2016 saw the launch and growth of so many social media platforms. Massive updates from Snapchat, the launch of Anchor, Facebook Live got serious and went global, YouTube started experimenting with their live app, Insta-stories, Musical.ly blowing up, actually, more options to go live than I’m going to list in this post. It’s no wonder why I meet so many business owners who are overwhelmed. With so many social media options available and not understanding which platform will bring the biggest ROI (Return of Investment) may be leaving you a little confused. So here are 3 tips to simplify your social media

  1. Pick 1-2 platforms and focus on them ONLY –  you can’t build your community effectively if you’re all over the place so if you’re struggling to build community, focus on 1 or 2 platforms then – grow onto other platforms, once you’ve established your brand.
  2. Narrowing down your options? Stick to using social media platforms that are popular with your ideal customers. This is not always the most popular social networks.
  3. Plan to plan Allocate 1-2 days each week to create and plan your social media content, use a scheduler like hootsuite to automate posts, then dedicate time each day to engage with your audience.

It does take some time to get into a flow that works for you and your business but you will see results with time.
