3 Tips for Simplifying your Social Media

Firstly, I’d like to say WOW, 2016 seen the launch and growth of so many social media platforms. We seen massive updates from Snapchat, the launch of Anchor, Facebook Live got serious and went global, You Tube started experimenting with their live app, Insta-stories, Musical.ly blowing up, actually, more options to go live than I’m going to list in this post. It’s no wonder why I meet so many people who are overwhelmed by all the social media options available, not understanding which will bring the biggest ROI (Return of Investment) or how to use them, yeah! I get it.

So here are 3 tips to simplify your social media

  1. Pick 1-2 platforms and focus on them ONLY – I know, it may feel like you need to be on every single platform, but you can’t build your community effectively if you’re all over the place, focus on 1 or 2 platforms then – grow onto other platforms, once you’ve established yourself.
  2. Narrow down the options Stick to using the platforms that are popular with your ideal customers. This is not always the most popular social networks.
  3. Plan to plan Allocate 1-2 days of the week when you create and plan your social media content, use a scheduler like hootsuite to automate posts, then dedicate time each day to engage with your audience.

It does take time to get into a flow that works for you and your business. You’ll start to see results once you practice consistency.
